TermsAgreement and charges
How it works
Agreements
In short
An agreement says how long a vendor's goods stay with you, and what happens at the end: you're asked, it renews by itself, or it ends by itself. When it ends, their charges stop, and a sale after that day asks you before it earns them anything.
The agreement is the fourth of your terms. It reads as a sentence in Settings, then Terms:
Each agreement runs 90 days from the day you confirm a vendor, then we ask you.
Or, for a shop whose vendors stay until someone says otherwise: Each agreement runs with no end date. Each lasts until you end it.
How long it runs#
Choose a length in days or months, or no end date. Each vendor's agreement counts from the day they were confirmed, the day they got their first consignor rate, so every vendor has their own end day. Their Summary shows it: "Started 6 October. Day 41 of 90."
What happens at the end#
| When an agreement ends | What happens |
|---|---|
| Ask me | "A reminder comes 14 days ahead. Answer it, or it ends on the day." |
| Renew it by itself | "A new agreement of the same length starts the day it ends." |
| End it by itself | It ends. "Once nothing of theirs is open, they move to Archived." |
With Ask me, 14 days before the end you get an email, "Alder Ceramics' agreement ends 18 January 2027", with how many of their items are still in the store, and Needs attention asks you the same. The vendor gets one too, so you can talk about what's next.
Renew, extend or end#
Answer from the reminder in Needs attention, or from the agreement on the vendor's Summary:
- Renew: another agreement of the same length, starting the day this one ends.
- Extend: carry it on to a day you pick.
- End: end it today, or on its day.
When an agreement has ended#
Nothing they've earned is lost, and everything owed to them is still paid. From the end day:
- Their charges stop. No new booth rent or fee is charged.
- A sale of theirs asks you first. If something of theirs sells after the end, maybe an item they didn't collect, Needs attention asks: Count it for them, and it earns them their share as usual, or Keep it for the store, and it's yours. Nothing is paid on it until you answer.
- They move to Archived once nothing of theirs is open: no money waiting, no open bill, no question.
Renewing or extending carries everything on as before.
Changing the agreement#
Change the shop-wide answer in Settings, then Terms, or give a vendor their own on their Terms tab. A new length still counts from the day each vendor was confirmed. "If that puts their end less than 14 days away, they get 14 days, with a reminder first."
The written words of your agreement, if you have them, are separate: see The written agreement.
Common questions#
- Does an agreement ending stop me paying the vendor?
- No. Everything they earned is still paid on its usual pay day. Only new charges stop, and a new sale asks you first. More
- What if I miss the reminder?
- With Ask me, the agreement ends on its day. You can still renew or extend it afterwards. More
- Do vendors see their agreement's end?
- Yes. Their page shows how long it runs, and they get an email 14 days before it ends. More
